Prof. Ir. Dr. Bermawi P. Iskandar (Department of Industrial Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia)

    He obtained BSc (1981) and MSc (1985) degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, and MEngSc (1989) and PhD (1993) degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the University of Queensland, Australia. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Chairman of Graduate Program in Industrial Engineering and Management, ITB, 2003-2007, Vice Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology, ITB (2008-2014), Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology, ITB (2014-2015), and Vice Rector for academic and student affairs, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (2015- ). His research interests include Product warranties, Maintenance and reliability models, Maintenance service contract, Lease equipment contracts, Facilities layout design, Lot sizing models for a supply chain system. He has published more than 50 conference proceedings papers, two book chapters, and 25 papers in a number of international journals. Dato' Madani Sahari (CEO of Malaysia Automative Institute)

    Dato’ Madani Sahari is a highly qualified executive manager with more than 18 years’ experience in manufacturing and service industries of the automotive sector. Dato’ Madani carries with him vast experience with national and international automotive manufacturers such as Proton, Perodua, Honda, Toyota, Renault, Hyundai, Nissan and General Motors in the areas of strategic collaboration, project development and manufacturing. He graduated from the University of Lorraine (formerly Nancy-Université), France, with a degree in Industrial Technology and is also a Certified Quality Engineer. He has held the following qualifications:
  • Master of Science MS.c (Quality Engineering)
  • Masters in Environment Science Management (Majoring in Energy Management)
  • Dipl. Ing. (FR) (Industrial Engineering)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Lead Assessor ISO/TS 16949

At present, Dato’ Madani is the CEO of the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), a focal point and coordination centre, under the custodian of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). MAI oversees the development of the Malaysian automotive industry in all matters, including formulating of the national automotive policy, development of the local automotive roadmap and its expansion programmes, managing manpower development programme, formulating and coordinating automotive related research.

Dato’ Madani’s knowledge and expertise also encompasses Strategic Planning & Partnership, Corporate Service Development, Business Process Reengineering, Project Management, Marketing, Quality Management, Safety, Health and Environment, Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and has a strong track record of proven ability to turnaround financially or operationally underperforming organizations.



Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Razlan Yusoff (Universiti Malaysia Pahang)


Assoc. Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Razlan Yusoff holds a PhD in the area of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2010. Before that, he was studied B.Eng (Hons) and MSc in the same area from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia in 2000 and 2013. He received study sponsorship award in his degree, master and PhD study, the best papers in international conferences (IDECON, ICMER, AIGEV) and several medal awards in several local and international exhibitions (Archimedes, MTE, IENA, I-TEX, BIS, MOSTI, and CITReX). He also received a Professional Engineer from Board of Engineers Malaysia, Chartered Engineer from I-MechE, UK, UMP excellent service award (2006, 2013, 2017), Cendekia Bitara (2011, 2015, 2016, 2017) and UMP community figure award (2016). He joined University of Sheffield as a PhD student and researcher where he participated in 3 ESPRC grants (UK). At present, he is an associate professor and former deputy dean of academic and research in the Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Pahang, Malaysia. His research interests include Advanced Machining Technology, Tool, Die & Mold and Vibration Applications and received several research grants as a leader including national research grants such as FRGS(2), PRGS(1), MTUN(2) and E-Science(1) with an amount of RM1.023 mil (USD206,000). Dr. Razlan has graduated 4 PhD students, 10 master students and more than 55 final year project students, now actively supervised 7 PhD students and have published 10 books, 85 journals and 65 conference papers in several conferences. He also appointed as external examiners and advisors for 8 technical institutions and university in Malaysia. In the national level, as FRGS panel appointed by Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA), Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) and Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC) panels for Board of Engineers, Malaysia, and I-TEX research product exhibition panel. He also served internationally as Guest and Visiting Professor at several universities in Turkey, Indonesia, and Japan. At industry, he appointed as Research Fellow in several national companies such as Sapura Machining, TT Electronics, VAC and Prasarana for consultation jobs.
